The Chief Executive Officer of Umera farms, Olamide Alao-Akala, has charged the Women’s wing of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, to align with the right networks and groups of people that will have positive impacts in their lives .
She stated that aligning with the right networks of people will help in building their business and other aspects of their lives .
The entrepreneur said this during a panel session held at the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, Women , Annual Convention 2024 , (PWAC 2024) held recently at Nicon Luxury Hotels , Abuja.
Alao -Akala alongside other panelists discussed on the Theme “The Dynamic Women Navigating Challenges in a Constantly Evolving World” where she shared some valuable insights from her experience as a business leader.
She stressed the challenges and mental resilience faced by women in leadership and strategies to overcome financial management obstacles.
While she however charged Nigerians to live a positive example that others could aspire to follow.
In his welcome address, the President of PENGASSAN, Festus Osifo, stated that more needs to be done to bridge the gender gap in the industry.
He lamented that women are underrepresented in many areas, adding that there is a need to advocate for policies and practices that promote gender equality.
While he called on stakeholders to provide tools, knowledge, and confidence to navigate and shape the future of the Association and the energy sector.
Speaking, the National Chairperson , PENGASSAN Women Commission, PWC, Maryann Mbanaso, said the theme for the year’s convention reflects the resilience, adaptability, and innovation that defines the women of PENGASSAN, adding that the event will motivate women to amplify their voices, especially in the Oil and Gas sector.
